PDP leader Waheed Para accused the alleged nexus of politics and terror
Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against PDP leader Waheed Para in a court in a case of alleged nexus between politicians and terror groups.
A charge sheet has been filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in a designated court, police said.
Para was arrested by the CID department of the J&K police earlier this year.
The police charge against Para came on a day when a UN special rapporteur accused Indian authorities of torturing Para for speaking to UN Security Council ambassadors who had come to Jammu and Kashmir for a visit organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The MEA is yet to respond to the UN rapporteur’s allegations. — IANS
