Digital X-rays
The Future of Dentistry team loves to keep up with dental technology and current dental techniques to give you and your family amazing smiles!
We are proud to offer digital X-ray technology that is a significant improvement in dental imaging. This technique allows for much less exposure to X-rays. It is also reusable and environmentally friendly, with no paper waste, no lead film liners and no chemicals.
Panoramic X-rays
We also use digital panoramic x-rays and state-of-the-art 3D scanning with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) when a combination of dental technology features needs to be evaluated. With these scanning X-rays, we get detailed, 3-dimensional views of your entire mouth and surrounding structures.
Most importantly, this thorough digital X-ray exposes a wide view of your jaw, sinus, nasal area, and temporomandibular (jaw) joint. This helps us detect impacted teeth, bone abnormalities, tumours, cysts and missing teeth. It is also a key tool in dental technology implant case planning and design.
The High-Definition Digital X-ray feature allows us to see deep into your teeth and bones with extremely high clarity. These tiny details are invisible to the naked eye. Using digital X-rays, we can catch small dental problems, such as early decay, before they progress. Best of all, you can view your digital x-rays with us because they are viewable on your computer screen!
Intraoral camera
Your face is the first thing people see when they meet you, so it’s no wonder that facial appearance has a huge impact on your overall confidence.
Do you ever wonder what we see when we look into your mouth? At Future of Dentistry, we use the intraoral camera to see things big and clear, and so can you! The camera provides images to help you understand the condition of your teeth as well as the solutions planned by one of our dentists.
Intraoral photographs are also very important for our dental technology records and for insurance purposes. Intraoral and smile series photos allow you to be an active partner in your dental treatment and give you the opportunity to make treatment decisions with confidence when you have a clear understanding of your dental condition.
If you would like to see exactly what a dentist sees, we invite you to the Future of Dentistry and try our intraoral camera technology today!
By examining your teeth and gums with us, we can determine: Exact areas of decay Broken fillings Chipped teeth Plaque Gum disease Worn teeth
Blood screening tests
Our understanding of the connection between oral and systemic health is strengthened every day by new research. Dentists today can do much more than just provide beautiful smiles; they can also help their patients live longer, healthier lives.
At Future of Dentistry, we are committed to continuous growth and learning. We use state-of-the-art technology that makes diagnosis and treatment easier for our patients.
Laser cavity detection
Caries (tooth decay) detection can be an inexact and often subjective science. Future of Dentistry dentists use DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection – an amazing breakthrough in cavity detection – to accurately detect caries in the earliest stages.
DIAGNOdent’s recently FDA-approved fluorescence laser technology, with more than 90 percent accuracy, allows our dentists to locate decay immediately and accurately, often without the need for additional X-rays.
Laser cavity detection
Laser cavity detection is an essential tool for a more thorough oral examination for you and your family. With this advanced technology, we can locate cavities and decay beneath the surface of the tooth.
Modern laser technology penetrates approximately 2 millimetres into the surface of the tooth, where caries initially multiply. Some x-rays can’t even detect cavities or decay in their early stages with such accuracy!
